The Park of Villa Reale in Marlia offers educational visits for primary and middle schools, covering built heritage and botany.
A day trip including the traditional visit to the gardens, and also a fun treasure hunt – you can bring a packed lunch too.
An example programme (which could be changed to suit your requirements) might be:
10am Arrival at the park. Distribute maps and any material necessary for the treasure hunt, dividing into groups.
10:15am The game starts! Guided by teachers, the children must find plants, following the clues they find around the park. During the hunt they will learn about the main characteristics, origins and features of the various trees.
11am End of the game – the treasure has been found! A small prize for all participants.
11:10am Break for a snack.
11:30am Free to discover the other parts of the park or of the museums.
1pm Return to school or have a picnic in the park (we recommend that you bring rugs).
